ENG Sv. Filip i Jakov is a beautiful, old, small Mediterranean town. It is located in Croatia, on the eastern shore of the Adriatic sea, 20 kilometres southwards of the ancient city of Zadar. This is probably the only Mediterranean area that preserved the natural beauties and the folk traditions, and did not trade them for tourist profit. The only area where a tourist is still a guest, and not a customer. The rich tradition of the settlement dates back to the 11th century, when it was called „Pristan“, an ancient Croatian word for „Harbour“. The fishermen still keep their hand painted boats in the same haven, as they ancestors used to, centuries ago. In the 16th century, the local church was dedicated to the apostoles St. Filip and Jacob. From that time, the town was called with their names. We are proud of our attractive shoreline, featuring quiet and clear bays and an archipelago of small islands. It’s an ideal place for windsurfing, scuba diving and many other recreational activities. The crystal clear seawater is tourquise to dark blue in colour. We always call it seawater, never just „water“, out of respect to the sea, which has always played a central role in our lives. For one-day excursions it is possible to visit the famous Croatian national and nature parks, like the Kornati Archipelago, the Paklenica or Plitvice National Park, the Krka Waterfalls, but also some less known yet very pictoresque locations like the Vrana Lake. A beautiful long sandy beach starts almost in the town center and ends just below our (and hopefully your) appartments. Should you decide to come to Sv. Filip i Jakov for your holidays, you are wellcome in the comfortable apartments of the family Županovic. We are offering four apartments rated with three-stars according to international standards. Each appartment offers ample room for four persons, cooking facilities, and a beautiful view. The apartments have been built in 2002, and have two big bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, a dinning-room, and a big terrace with a gorgeous view at the sea. The house is situated less than 100 metres from the beach, surrounded with rich Mediterranean vegetation. In the immediate proximity you can enjoy various sport activities: handball, football, tennis or volleyball playgrounds are just some among the facilities that the area offers.
